#1 Memphis Reach 19-0 After Zags Defeat

Despite the poor free-throw shooting down the stretch and Jeremy Pargo's 25 point and seven assist day, the Memphis Tigers (19-0, 5-0) maintain their savvy edge in an 81-73 win over the Gonzaga Bulldogs (15-5, 4-0) in Tennessee on Saturday.

Smooth shooting guard Chris Douglas-Roberts was Memphis' high-scorer with 21 points and six rebounds. Freshman Derrick Rose had 19 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists, while future NBA prospect Joey Dorsey had nine points and 13 rebounds.

The Memphis, who played their first game at home since being ranked number one, came out firing from the tip-off. The Tigers put together a 10-0 run in less than two and a half minutes. It would eventually to the Tiger's 43trd straight home win, the longest in the nation.

The Zags were out rebounded 39-25 and gave up 23 fast-break points.

Josh Heytvelt had 13 points and seven rebounds, while Micah Down shot 4-4 for Gonzaga. He finished with 11 points.

Memphis will play Houston at home, UAB on the road, and Tennessee at home on the February 23, which will be their biggest test. Calipari in eight seasons at Memphis is now 200-63.

Gonzaga will be at home on the 28th to face Portland.
