At the Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu, it was all Gonzaga (13-4, 2-0) in a 92-57 route against Pepperdine (6-12, 0-2) in a game that was never close. Austin Daye was the story off the bench scoring 19 points, grabbing six rebounds, and shooting seven-for-eight from the field. Three other Zags were in double figures.
Gonzaga forced 25 turnovers, while holding the Waves to 35.8 percent shooting.
Josh Heytvelt had a productive night with 11 points and seven rebounds, despite being harrassed by Pepperdine students at the free-throw line throughout the night.
Gonzaga will be in Spokane on Saturday to face San Diego Toreros (8-10, 1-0).
